The wait is over as the hit Filipino musical “Mula sa Buwan” announced its return to the theater stage this August!
The musical will have a limited run from August 26 to September 11, 2022 at the new Samsung Circuit Performing Arts Theater located in Circuit Makati.
John Mark Yap, Mula Sa Buwan’s stage manager and a partner-producer of Barefoot Theatre Collab, shared the great news, noting that “it’s the best time to bring back MSB (Mula Sa Buwan) because it’s about the essence of theater and the power of stories.”
Directed by Pat Valera, “Mula sa Buwan” is a Filipino adaptation of “Cyrano” of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac and Soc Rodrigo’s Filipino adaptation. The musical features songs from the latter such as Ikaw, Matatapos Din, and Ang Sabi Nila.
The show’s official synopsis says, “MSB follows the love triangle involving long-nosed Cyrano, his childhood love, Roxanne, and the handsome newcomer, Christian. However, the show also evolves drastically from one about unrequited love to a tale about the choice people make, especially in dire times.”
Gab Pangilinan will be reprising her role as Roxane, while Myke Salomon, who played the role of Christian in their 2018 run, is now returning to play Cyrano. Markki Stroem joins the cast as Christian.
They are joined by Phi Palmos (Rosanna), MC Dela Cruz (Maximo), Jon Abella (Tato), Jillian Ita-as (Gabriel), Abe Autea, Jep Go, Rapah Manalo, Stephen Viñas, and Ericka Peralejo (cadets), and Miah Canton, Francis Gatmaytan, Mitzie Lao, Deborah Lemuel, Mark Anthony Grantos, Eizel Marcelo, Kinnara Mayari, Ace Polias, Liway Perez, Lance Reblando, Mikaela Regis, Chesko Rodriguez, Keith Sumbi, Shaira Opsimar, and Khalil Tambio as members of the ensemble. There will be no alternates for this run.
Tickets for “Mula Sa Buwan” is now available at TicketWorld.
