“FIREFLY’ IS MAKING ITS WAY TO PRIME VIDEO PH THIS APRIL

In an announcement on its social media pages, Prime Video PH revealed that the award-winning film “Firefly”, will be heading to its streaming service beginning on April 30.

Directed by Gawad Urian Award winner Zig Dulay, and featuring a star-studded cast headlined by Alessandra De Rossi, Dingdong Dantes, and child actor Euwenn Mikaell, who is making his theatrical debut, “Firefly” follows the story of a young boy named Tonton, who embarks on a  journey to search for the fantastical “Island of Fireflies” from her mother’s bedtime stories.

Initially released as an entry to the 2023 Metro Manila FIlm Festival, the film garnered critical acclaim upon its premiere, winning multiple awards such as Best Picture, and Best Screenplay during the festival’s “Gabi ng Parangal” awards ceremony.

The digital release of “Firefly” had already been eagerly awaited after its initial theatrical release, and the announcement by Prime Video was met with excitement and anticipation by fans of the award-winning film, citing the film’s emotional impact and captivating story as a key factor for their excitement.
