The hit mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has its own Southeast Asian-inspired heroes as it grows its number of players in the region.

Launched in 2016, Moonton Technology’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang rose in popularity in Southeast Asia and across the globe over the years. It was among the games chosen for the first medal event esports competition at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.

With Southeast Asians as among the primary players of the game, the release of these heroes was loved by the players.

Here are the five (5) Mobile Legends: Bang Bang heroes inspired by the Southeast Asian legends:

Sharing the name and the popular look of the Filipino hero, Lapu-Lapu, this fierce MLBB hero is a fighter class equipped with big dual blades that combines into one. Meanwhile, the real-life Lapu-Lapu is considered as the first Philippine hero due to his defiance and victory against the Spanish invaders.

Minsitthar was based on Kyansittha, a king of the ancient Pagan dynasty in Burma (Myanmar). The king was also considered as one of the greatest Burmese monarchs. Minsitthar, on the other hand, belongs to the fighter class of heroes with an exceptional crowd control ability. He is equipped with a spear and shield.

This MLBB hero was inspired by the mythological hero of Singapore and Malaysia named Badang. He was a poor fisherman before he became a hero with super strength. It was believed that Badang is the man who threw the Singapore Stone. The MLBB Badang also came from the fighter class, who can easily stun and knockback enemies, he can also create walls to trap the enemies.

An Indonesian legend, Gatotkaca is a mighty warrior with superhuman powers, his story is a favorite feature of the Indonesian Wayang Kulit or Shadow Puppet Show. The MLBB version of Gatotkaca is a fighter class with extreme durability that made him a perfect character for tank purposes.

Kadita was based on the Indonesian Goddess of the Sea popularly known as Nyai Roro Kidul. According to the legend, the sea goddess was once a princess who was cursed but got cured after she turned into a mermaid. In MLBB, Kadita is a mage class with magical abilities to summon destructive and deadly waves.
