It’s full force from The Walt Disney Company this 2025, as Walt Disney Studios just released the live-action adaptation of Snow White, while Marvel Studios premiered the long-awaited Thunderbolts*. With the first quarter of the year wrapped up, SEA Wave has put together a list of the Disney films coming to cinemas for the rest of 2025.
Lilo & Stitch (Release Date: May 23, 2025)
Disney is going big with this live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, which will bring back the original creator, Chris Sanders, as the voice of Stitch. It has an exciting premise that has worked well in the animation format: an alien crash landing on Hawaii and befriend a little girl. But what’s promising here is the cast that includes Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance and Billy Magnussen. Let’s see where this comedic romp about found family takes us.
Elio (Release Date: June 13, 2025)
Pixar is headed to space in their sole film this year with Elio. The sci-fi comedy follows an 11-year-old space fanatic with an active imagination. Elio (Yonas Kibreab) is accidentally captured by aliens and becomes the ambassador of Earth, navigating a crisis of intergalactic proportions in this journey of self-discovery.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Release Date: July 25, 2025)
Marvel’s first family officially joins the MCU. All eyes are on this new film, as past film renditions of Fantastic Four did not fare well with audiences and critics alike. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Freakier Friday (Release Date: August 8, 2025)
Freakier Friday, the sequel to the 2003 hit, might be long overdue, but it should be a nice treat for the ‘90s crowd looking for nostalgia. This film will have everything you’ve loved from the prequel: Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in laugh-out-loud body-switching hijinks. The film follows mother-duaghter duo Tess (Curtis) and Anna Coleman (Lohan), as they switch bodies again—this time with Anna’s daughter, Harper (Julia Butters) and soon-to-be stepdaughter Lily Davies (Sophia Hammons).
Tron: Ares (Release Date: October 10, 2025)
More than a decade since Tron: Legacy, this new entry to the Tron series introduces us to mankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings. Tron: Ares takes us on a high-stake mission involving a powerful A.I. being sent from the digital world to the real world.
Predator: Badlands (Release Date: November 7, 2025)
The upcoming Predator movie directed by Dan Trachtenberg is already gaining a lot of steam from the trades, describing the project as “bonkers.” Set on a remote planet, a young Predator finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning), an android created by Weyland-Yutani. The pair embark on a dangerous journey as they search for the ultimate adversary.
Zootopia 2 (Release Date: November 26, 2025)

A long time that has passed since the first Zootopia, but with such a rich world to explore, it’s impossible not to be excited for this sequel. Detectives Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) go undercover in Marsh Market to crack a case, when they find themselves on the twisting trail of the mysterious Gary the Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan .
Avatar: Fire and Ash (Release Date: December 19, 2025)

After introducing us to the Metkayina clan in Avatar: Way of the Water, James Cameron’s multi-billion-dollar franchise will delve deeper into another nation of Na’vi, occupied by the volcano-dwelling Ash People. As conflict on Pandora escalates, Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri’s (Zoe Saldaña) family must grapple with their grief and pick themselves back up to save their world.
