Amidst the noise of the modern world, Yaelokre offers something truly unique: an illustrated universe of folklore and fantasy, steeped in childhood curiosity. Having made a viral debut and a story-based EP series, Filipino-Icelandic artist Keath Ósk is quietly constructing a world of magic with their musical project, Yaelokre.
Child of Two Worlds, Voice of a Hundred Stories
Keath Ósk was born to Icelandic and Filipino parents, learning to play the guitar and piano from their mother, and growing to love stories and fantasy from their father. Growing up, Ósk used to dream about becoming a children’s book author or a preschool teacher, but eventually, the calling to channel their creativity into something richer was too loud to ignore. This ended up becoming the start of Ósk’s musical project, Yaelokre.
Yaelokre’s first single was “Harpy Hare.” The repetitive song, reminiscent of a nursery rhyme or a poem, went viral in July 2024 with the release of its illustrated music video. Combining animation and music, the video was told from the point-of-view of the Lark—a group of four minstrel-like children in masks consisting of Cole, Clémentine, Perrine, and Kingsley, all voiced by Ósk. The song topped the Global Viral Songs chart on Spotify and broke through the TikTok Billboard Top 50, sparking by an influx of fan covers, reaction videos, and lore explainers about the song. This sparked the discussion around Yaelokre’s emerging fictional world, Meadowlark.
Building a Musical Universe

“Harpy Hare” was initially released on January 2024, shortly followed by the Hayfields EP in March, further fleshing out Yaelokre’s unique vocal textures and personalities. The project became even more in-depth with the release of Songs of Origin in September 2024, a second EP centered around the Lark and their backstories, including songs such as “Bird Cage Blue and Yellow” and “My Farewells to the Fields”—origin stories that delved deeper into the lore behind Meadowlark.
When asked to share more about the setting of their fictional world, Yaelokre answered “Meadowlark isn’t a village, nor a place, it is what I call a bridge! A story within stories among many. Where all of what I create are stowed and retold, pages where my characters such as the Lark (Cole, Clémentine, Perrine, and Kingsley) can exist, and perform.”
As Yaelokre’s ideas grow, so to does their cast of characters and the world of Meadowlark.
Starting a Movement

Although 2024 served as an important starting point for Yaelokre, 2025 was when they truly shined. In March, theyserved as an opening act to Norwegian singer Aurora on her Manila tour. From holding small gigs for 20 people, she was suddenly thrust to the spotlight, performing in a 2000-seat capacity theater.
Soon after, Yaelokre released two new singles, “Kid & Leveret” and “Cole Response,” both of which further expanded the mythology of Meadowlark and built upon some emotional undertones behind the most talkative member of the group, Cole.
By May 2025, the project reached new heights as Yaelokre announced their headlining Foreword Tour, which would travel to North America, Europe, and Asia. The UK and Ireland legs were sold out within a week, showing just how in-demand their concerts were.
As Yaelokre continues to expand their repertoire, it opens up more possibilities for musicians to connect with their audiences outside of just songs and music videos. And we at SEA Wave are looking forward to see the rich tapestry of music and story that Yaelokre is weaving.
