Studio Ghibli films are set to grace the big screen this September with Studio Ghibli Fest 2025. This global film festival will feature highly acclaimed films from filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, including all-time favorites such as Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, Ponyo, and Arrietty.

Coinciding with this year’s festival is the 40th anniversary celebration of Studio Ghibli, which sees the inclusion of The Boy and the Heron in the lineup as the most recent release from the studio.

Over the last 40 years, Studio Ghibli has built up a reputation as one of the most influential and beloved animation houses in the world, having been recognized for two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature (Spirited Away, The Boy and the Heron), five additional Academy Award nominations (Howl’s Moving Castle, The Wind Rises, The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, When Marnie Was There, The Red Turtle), and the Honorary Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024 for its exceptional contributions to cinema and its lasting impact on the film industry.

Studio Ghibli films are screening worldwide this September, so check out your nearest movie theater and find out what’s lined up for you to enjoy.
