Singapore is about to go colossal as it launches its largest-ever dinosaur exhibit entitled “Dinosaurs | Extinctions | Us”, featuring 33 rare fossils, 60 full-scale models, and 3,000 square meters of immersive displays that retell the story of 400 million years of the planet’s history.
The showcase was organized by Science Centre Singapore in collaboration with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, promising to be a landmark attraction for both science lovers and families, featuring two world-renowned exhibitions, which are the “Dinosaurs of Patagonia” and “Six Extinctions.”
Highlighting South America’s prehistoric giants curated by Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio (MEF), “Dinosaurs of Patagonia” includes a full-scale cast of the Patagotitan mayorum, one of the largest dinosaurs discovered, with a length of 40 meters and weighed 70 tonnes. While “Six Extinctions” features more than 30 displays reliving our planet’s past and highlighting the sixth mass extinction known as the Holocene extinction, which is currently unfolding due to the catastrophic impact of humanity’s activities on Earth’s biodiversity.
The main attraction of the exhibit is none other than Scotty, the biggest Tyrannosaurus rex fossil, and other extinct but once-native species in Singapore like the cream-coloured giant squirrel and the rufous-collared kingfisher.
Beyond the awe factor, the exhibit is designed to spark conversations about biodiversity loss and conservation, connecting the age of dinosaurs to today’s urgent environmental challenges.
Whether you’re a budding paleontologist, a family looking for an educational outing, or just someone with a love for discovering the wonders of the world, this showcase promises to be one of Singapore’s most talked-about cultural events of 2025.
