John M. Chu expressed his gratitude on behalf of the production team, thanking Filipinos for being some of the biggest Wicked fans in a TikTok video, and announcing the upcoming competition. “We’ve seen so many of your gorgeous renditions and are moved by your talent,” said Chu as he invited viewers to perform their own version of the song “For Good” with their best friend for the chance to win magical prizes.

Three pairs of winners will be part of the recording of the Philippines’ rendition of “For Good,” and will make appearances in the music video. They will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore and meeting the stars of Wicked: For Good.

The sequel is set years after Wicked, with Elphaba now known as the Wicked Witch of the West who continues fighting for the rights of animals in the Land of Oz, while Glinda the Good is now a public figure under the watch of the Wizard and Madame Morrible. As their relationship is put to the test, will Elphaba and Glinda be able to reunite and change Oz for good?

Catch Wicked: For Good in cinemas on November 19 and join the Awiting Wicked: For Good online singing contest until October 5, with the full mechanics here.
