Manila Symphony Orchestra presents a Symphony of Classics with “Concerto Ottimo 3”

Manila Symphony Orchestra is back in action with classics and modern hits for the upcoming “Concerto Ottimo 3”. Featuring Conductor Marlon Chen, the concert aims to excite fans with an energetic and memorable performance for music lovers.

The concert will feature Wagner’s dramatic “Ride of the Valkyries,” Ravel’s hypnotic “Bolero”, and Strauss’ lively “Tritsch-Tratsch-Pola”. The orchestra will also mix things up with iconic scores like “The Godfather Theme” and “Gonna Fly Now” from Rocky. Contemporary listeners are also in for a treat with the emotional orchestral versions of “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi and “Every Breath You Take” by The Police.

“Concerto Ottimo 3” is the third installation of an orchestral event series, with “Concerto Ottimo 1” held last March 22, 2024; and “Concerto Ottimo 2” held last October 24, 2024. Enjoy music from the Manila Symphony Orchestra, one of the oldest orchestras in Asia and the longest surviving artistic institution in the Philippines. The orchestra is known for hosting international artists such as Gareth Nair, Helen Quach, and Eduard Strauss II, and National Artists of the Philippines such as Antonio Molina, Antonino Buenaventura, and Ryan Cayabyab. Meanwhile, conductor Marlon Chen, a composer and arranger with Manila Symphony Orchestra, is known for performing his own works in major orchestras, commissioning works from composers, and conducting more than 50 premieres of contemporary compositions.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra continues to build high-quality classical performances through season concerts and the development of Filipino talents in the music industry.
