Royal Canin and non-profit organization Communitails joined forces to launch Welcome Home, Rocky & Charlie—a book about properly caring for your furry pets and making them feel loved and a part of the family.
The story follows siblings Reggie and Cindy, who long for a new member of the family. The duo come across a golden retriever named Charlie from a breeder, and a stray cat named Rocky. Being from different backgrounds, the new pets react differently to their new home, with Charlie being more prim and proper, whilst Rocky is more independent. These contrasting behaviors are reflective of their unique environments, and show that while they are wildly different, they both still deserve the same love from their new fur parents.
The children who attended the launch event were also educated on pet body language, and how to take care of the basic needs of a pet by Dr. Kitsie Torres, scientific communication manager at Royal Canin. The talk also taught children how to give their pets space when they might feel overwhelmed or irritable.
“It’s about recognizing the unique personalities of our pets, providing the right nutrition, and creating an environment where they feel safe and loved,” shared Ann Madelene Garcia, pet specialty retail head at Royal Canin Philippines, during the book launch.
Royal Canin has been an advocate for responsible pet care since its establishment in 1968. Through this collaboration with Communitails—a non-profit organization that handles therapy dogs in educational and wellness programs—Welcome Home, Rocky & Charlie was able to launch through an interactive event, featuring engaging storytelling and expert-led discussions for the benefit of young pet owners.
Welcome Home, Rocky & Charlie is set to be released soon, so stay tuned for updates and tune in to their Facebook page at facebook.com/RoyalCaninPH.
