“Hamilton” Musical Film to Premiere in Philippine Cinemas for a Limited Run

Fan-favorite musical Hamilton is set to unravel the story of Alexander Hamilton in Philippine cinemas for the first time – but hurry up, since the screening ends after a week!

As the musical celebrates its 10th anniversary, Walt Disney Studios is bringing the highly acclaimed show with an exclusive cast reunion to select cinemas nationwide. Created by and starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, the film version of the musical originally debuted on Disney+ in July 2020.

The film follows the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, a politician from immigrant origins who eventually became America’s first Secretary of the Treasury. His role in the American Revolution was deemed crucial in history, and with its retelling using hip-hop, R&B, and show tunes, his story has captured the attention and imagination of people worldwide.

Directed by Thomas Kai, the musical film features a star-studded cast with Alexander Hamilton played by Lin-Manuel Miranda, his nemesis and the show’s narrator, Aaron Burr played by Leslie Odom Jr., his wife Eliza Hamilton played by Phillipa Soo, and her sister Angelica Schuyler played by Renée Elise Goldsberry. Other featured actors include Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Daveed Diggs as Thomas Jefferson, and Jonathan Groff as King George III.
