The Ha Noi Singing Competition is back in search of the newest singing talents in Vietnam.

The singing competition is organized by the Ha Noi Radio and Television and began in 2023, aiming to celebrate the talented voices of the youth and become a launch pad for their singing careers. Various artists who participated and successfully went on to become professional singers include Anh Thơ, Hồng Hạnh, Mai Hoa, and Phương Anh.

The stakes are higher than ever for its 2025 edition, with more challenges that include improvisation, instrumentation, and remixing songs within a limited timeframe. All of these allow the participants to show off their wide range of skills, not only as singers, but as performers as well. Another crucial change is that the competition will now welcome participants from around the world, as long as they meet the conditions stated in the competition guidelines.

The participants will be competing in three musical styles—classical, folk, and pop music—and will be judged by vocal experts, like Anh Thơ, Hà Thủy, Hồ Quỳnh Hương, Mai Hoa, Quang Vinh (President of the Hà Nội Music Association), Quốc Hưng (Director of the Việt Nam National Academy of Music), Thanh Lam, and Tấn Minh.

The winner of the special prize will take home VNĐ600 million worth of cash and a car, while each first place winner per category will win VNĐ100 million, VNĐ50 million for second place, VNĐ30 million for third place, while additional winners will receive VNĐ10 million each.

“We believe that material rewards are not the most important factor. The greater value lies in the recognition from professionals, the public and the media – that is the most meaningful reward for true talents,” said Nguyễn Kim Khiêm, General Director and Editor-in-Chief of Hà Nội Radio and Television, and Head of the organisation board in an interview with Vietnam Lifestyle.

Registration is ongoing on the Hanoi Radio and Television app until October 25, with the classical final happening on November 27, the pop music final on November 30, and the folk music final on December 3. The final ranking ceremony will be held at Hồ Gươm Theatre on December 9.
