Have you ever dreamed of Goethe’s magnum opus in Filipino? Si Faust reimagines the classic tale of a deal with the Devil through the rock anthems of Wolfgang – all set to be performed in Areté’, the creativity and innovation hub of the Ateneo de Manila University.

A collaboration between director-playwright Nelsito Gomez and Wolfgang frontman Basti Artadi, Si Faust aims to capture Faust—a tragic play by German writer and polymath Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

The reimagined musical Si Faust will follow the story of a preacher named Faust (Joseton Vergel de Dios) who makes a deal with a devil named Mephistopheles (Maita Ponce). Set in a province in the Philippines, the devil grants Faust powers to heal the sick, but his lover, Marga (Shaira Opsimar), is doomed to take the catch of these powers.

The remake will also feature distinguished theater actors Joshua Cabiladas, Matel Patayon, MC Dela Cruz, Jam Binay, JV Fulgencio, Thor Ganchero, and Iya Villanueva.

Si Faust is set to run from November 14 to 23 at the Doreen Blackbox Theater in Areté, Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City. For ticket information, visit arete.helixpay.ph
