Renowned Filipino screenwriter, journalist, novelist, and playwright Ricky Lee is offering a free in-person scriptwriting workshop aimed to help budding writers in their craft.
Since 1982, the workshop has guided different storytellers and filmmakers who have each made a mark in Filipino cinema, such as Lav Diaz, Dwein Baltazar, Sari Dalena, Jeffrey Jeturian, Bing Lao, Bela Padilla, Agot Isidro, Dustin Celestino, Pepe Diokno, and many more.
Known for his extensive work in Philippine cinema, Ricky Lee has written 180 screenplays, including classics like Brutal (1980), Himala (1982), and Karnal (1983). He has also been named a National Artist of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.
Supported by the new Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), the workshop will accept only 30 participants per batch for Batch 30 (December 2025 to March 2026) and Batch 31 (May 2026 to August 2026). All sessions will be conducted face-to-face in Quezon City.
