Philippine Airlines Allows Small Dogs in Select Domestic Flights

Heads up, furparents! Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that they are now allowing small dogs to ride with their owners on select local flights.

PAL is offering its new FurPAL service in select flights to Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao. This marks a historic milestone as the first and only in-cabin pet travel service in the Philippines, allowing passengers to bring their small dogs on flights for as low as PHP 2,500 for a one-way ticket.

To increase traveller and pet safety, PAL has prepared precautions for the little critters and their guardians. The dogs should not be over 10kg, at least eight weeks old, and accustomed to travel. Passengers should also bring their pets in leak-proof carriers that include soft-side cushions and pee pads, measuring 17” x 11” x 9.5” with at least two ventilation panels. Carriers will be placed under the seat in front of the passenger.

Lastly, owners should be able to present their pet’s veterinary health certificate, vaccination records, and a shipping permit from the Bureau of Animal Industry. PAL notes that it prohibits the general sedation of pets.

Pet owners can now book FurPAL-eligible flights to Boracay, Bohol, or Siargao using the Travel Boost page. Fly with your pet starting December 1 and visit the PAL website for more information.
