The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has unveiled its new and upgraded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) lounge at the NAIA Terminal 1.
As of 2023, the government has recorded 2.33 million registered OFWs around the world. Thus, NAIA made a concerted effort to offer a modern space and a relaxing atmosphere for OFWs traveling to and from the Philippines. Partnering with the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA), NAIA’s day-to-day operations aimed to provide quality service to our modern-day heroes as part of its top priority.
The newly constructed lounge is part of the ongoing NAIA rehabilitation program, which had already started with its first renovation of the OFW lounge at the NAIA Terminal 3. The lounge offers free food and drinks, comfortable seating, charging stations, and flight schedule monitors, providing ease of access and worry-free travels to OFWs.
NAIA reiterates its commitment to championing OFWs on its website, showcasing the stories of different OFWs around the world with its “Bagong Bayani” campaign.
The New NAIA OFW lounge is free of charge and is open 24/7 at the NAIA Terminal 1 pre-departure area, near Starbucks, and NAIA Terminal 3 pre-departure area.
