It’s been two years since Matthew Perry passed, but his Friends co-stars are keeping his memory alive with a project for the benefit of The Matthew Perry Foundation. In collaboration with Soundwaves Art, Friends cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow signed pieces commissioned by the foundation, which will go on sale this holiday season with the proceeds going towards helping those struggling with addiction.

Friends premiered 31 years ago with an ensemble of characters that eventually became household names: Monica Geller (Cox), Chandler Bing (Perry), Phoebe (Kudrow), Joey (LeBlanc), Rachel (Aniston), and Ross (Schwimmer). Its brand of comedy immediately made it one of the most popular and highest grossing shows of all time, averaging 30 million viewers by its second season according to EuroNews.

Ultimately, what contributed to the show’s massive popularity was the relatable characters and the beautiful friendships they had with one another. It became the framework for shows like The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and other modern sitcoms featuring ensemble casts.

After Friends completed its run, Perry admitted to being an addict as he struggled through his rehabilitation. Tragically, he unexpectedly passed from an overdose in 2023 at the age of 54. Following his death, the National Philanthropic Trust established the Matthew Perry foundation to support people suffering from addiction.

The foundation has since continued its efforts to provide services to those in need. This year, they commissioned Soundwaves Art—a foundation that helps raise money for world-changing charities—to create six pieces of art based on the soundwaves of the Friends theme song. All of the cast members have signed limited copies of the artworks, with handwritten catchphrases by their respective characters.

“All the profits will be donated to the Matthew Perry Foundation, which realizes Matthew’s enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction,” said Soundwaves Art in a statement.

These are only available for a limited time so visit the Soundwaves Art website for more information about this limited edition collection.
