Given the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) , one of the things we had to give up was going out to eat a or favorite restaurants. Restaurants have been one of the sectors that have been badly affected by the strict implementation of ECQ, especially now that it has been extended in some parts of the Philippines, including Metro Manila.

We may be stuck inside our house but that does not mean our cravings would stop too! After weeks of not being able to taste some of our favorite dishes from our favorite restaurants, and scrolling through our phones for the trendiest meals on Instagram and Pinterest, it’s no surprise that we’re craving all sorts of food right now! Don’t worry, many restaurants are still operational and offer deliveries to nearby locations. To satisfy your cravings right at your own home, you may want to call these restaurants that “deliver” — literally and figuratively!

The Frazzled Cook— Tomas Morato, Quezon City

Who wouldn’t crave for The Frazzled Cook’s Truffle Pasta, right? Thankfully they opened their café for take out orders last April 13! You can now order through filling up an online form and the staff will coordinate with you via SMS or Viber! You may either choose to have your food delivered via Grab or Lalamove, or you can also choose to pick it up at their café if you’re nearby! Orders can be picked up and will be delivered from 10am to 5pm, just make sure you have sent your order form by 7pm the previous day! You can find the form in their facebook page The Frazzled Cook.

Mendokoro Ramenba— Salcedo Village, Makati City

While we may have a good amount of cup ramen stored in our cupboards, we can’t really compare those with the authentic taste of delicious ramen goodness. Mendokoro Ramenba is usually packed with people and long lines of people, and since you can’t come to line up for their famous ramen, they now deliver to you their ramen kits! So you can totally play at being chef when preparing your ramen! Since the shop is now operating with limited staff, orders may take a while to be prepared and delivered, so make sure to order your ramen kits a few days before! You can find out more about their delivery methods and the locations they deliver to from their facebook page Mendokoro Ramenba.

Due to the enhanced community quarantine every restaurant in Metro Manila has suspended their walk-in or dine-in services to comply with the strict implementations of the ongoing quarantine. Nearing the 7th week of quarantine, things have not been easier for anyone, including its effects on our emotional and mental health. But we must continue to keep our spirits up and our faiths intact in these times and do what we can to make ourselves feel at least a little bit better. There’s not much we can do being stuck at our home but if a cookie or a warm bowl of ramen may help you ease your anxieties, you should indulge yourself a bit!
