To show the world that unity is what we need during this challenging period, over 70 theater performers across Southeast Asia gathered to sing Jonathan Larson’s “Seasons of Love” from the musical Rent.
The song, about how love should prevail within each of us at all times, was sung as a solidarity initiative of The ASEAN Musical Theater Project in hopes to bring people together during the season of COVID-19.

The ASEAN Musical Theater Project is composed of musical theatre performers and musicians from Southeast Asia who had a goal of cheering everyone up during these tough times through music.
“This memorable anthem from Jonathan Larson’s hit musical ‘Rent’ gives us a voice. A voice that says we are here standing side by side in our diversity. That we are not alone. That we will not leave anyone behind. That we will come together and face the future together. Not just as a collective or industry or even a country. But as a region,” The ASEAN Musical Theater Project said in the video.
“This project is not for profit and we are just so happy to be able to feature as many artists as possible as a display of solidarity amongst musical theatre performing artists across the region for all those affected by this virus.”
