Don’t miss the We Are One: Global Film Festival starting May 29

The film industry has been one of the sectors heavily affected by the pandemic. With people unable to enjoy films in theatre due to the risk of the virus, Tribeca Enterprises has organized a Global Film festival with dozens of international film festival to hold a free online film festival made to be available on YouTube for ten days.

We Are One: A Global Film Festival is born from the film community’s idea to come together in celebration of films and in support by helping other communities affected by the crisis. Viewers may donate through the link provided in the program, in support for the COVID-19 relief efforts of World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNHCR, Save The Children, Doctors Without Borders, Leket Israel, GO Foundation and Give2Asia.

The Global Film Festival will feature films from over 35 countries and will have 23 narrative, 8 documentary features 57 narrative and 15 documentary short films and many more!

Some of the participating festivals include entries from the BFI London Film Festival such as Rudeboy: The Story Of Trojan Records (2018, Jamaica/UK) by Nicolas Jack Davies, as well as John Noel’s 1927 silent documentary The Epic Of Everest and Shiraz: A Romance Of India by Franz Osten.

From Venice film fest are Beautiful Things by Giorgio Ferrero, and Mary Is Happy, Mary Is Happy (2013) by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit.

The lineup also includes films from Prateek Vats’s Mumbai 2018 Golden Gateway Of India, Eeb Allay Ooo!, Japanese features such as Akiko Ooku’s Tremble All You Want and Daigo Matsui’s Ice Cream And The Sound Of Raindrops. David R. Romay’s 2018 Guadalajara, Beyond The Mountain (Mexico) is also included.

Apart from short films and documentaries, there are also talks from notable directors and film practitioners like Francis Ford Coppola with Steven Soderbergh, Song Kang-ho and Bong Joon-ho, Guillermo del Toro, Jane Campion and Claire Denis.
