A few years after TV5 decided to lean towards sports and news-oriented programming, the network has announced that they will be reintroducing entertainment programs to their content line-up.

TV5 will be tapping into “block time” or buying shows from producers such as Cignal or APT Entertainment instead of producing things in-house as a way to scout new materials for their broadcast.

According to the Perci Intalan, TV5’s new programming head, the network will be “looking for programs, not stars” and they are “open to whoever wants to collaborate.”

“I think we’ve never had a network that is in this position before. Before, it’s like a Hollywood studio, everything is [done] in-house and everything is created internally,” Intalan added.

TV5’s first wave of new shows will include a few game shows, a talk show, a fitness-oriented show, among others.
