Universal Music seals its expansion in Vietnam by signing Vietnamese pop star, Phùng Khánh Linh. In partnership with local independent label, Times Record, Universal Music Vietnam (UMV) formalizes the signing as they announce the opening of the UMV office in Ho Chi Minh City last month.
Phùng Khánh Linh rose stardom after winning season 3 of The Voice Vietnam in 2015. She has since then gained popularity for the songs and albums she released. One of her most popular tracks is *title* which has garned about 250 million streams across various streaming platform and has over 60 million views in YouTube since its release in 2018. Her latest single, Worlds Without You, whose music video has 3 million views already since it was released in July 31, will be part of her upcoming album, banked to be released next year. Lam Thoi Dai of Times Record describes the song as ‘another bold chapter’ in Phùng Khánh Linh’s career.

UMV will be headed by general manager Lan Khanh Phung, who was very proud of having Phùng Khánh Linh under their belt as the first Vietnamese artist under the label. “This is an exciting time for music in Vietnam, and the launch of Universal Music Vietnam shows our commitment to supporting local music talent and artistry.” He said in a statement about the UMV launch.
