WATCH: Netflix teases “Kingdom” prequel “Ashin of the North”

Netflix has released the first trailer of Kingdom: Ashin of the North, a special that will serve as a prequel to the world of the popular South Korean series Kingdom.

The special will reveal the origins of the resurrection plant that triggered the tragic events that swept through the Joseon and Ashin, the woman abandoned by all. Watch the trailer below.

 Kingdom: Ashin of the North is directed by Kim Seong-hun, who previously directed the series’ first season. Stars Gianna Jun, Kim Sia, and Park Byung-eun will all reprise their roles for the special. Catch the special on July 23, 2021 on Netflix.
