Columbia Pictures’ suspenseful tale “Don’t Breathe 2” will finally be seen in its eye-popping terror when it opens exclusively in Philippine cinemas on November 17.

In 2016’s Don’t Breathe, Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) was underestimated by everyone because of his blindness, but ultimately revealed an unflinching will to survive and get what he wants… and a monstrous, evil side of his personality… He’s a man who’ll let nothing – no person or conscience – stand in his way. Now, in Don’t Breathe 2, eight years have passed, and Nordstrom lives with 11-year-old Phoenix; he has recreated the family stolen from him by a drunk driver and found the twisted justice he’s always felt was his due. When intruders once again come to his home, this time focused on Phoenix, Norman will reveal for a second time what’s hidden inside him, in new and unexpected ways.

Starring Stephen Lang, Brendan Sexton III, and Madelyn Grace, Don’t Breathe 2 is directed by Rodo Sayagues. Written by Fede Alvarez & Rodo Sayagues. Based on Characters Created by Fede Alvarez & Rodo Sayagues.

Don’t Breathe 2 came out of a place of trying to surprise ourselves and the audience,” says Alvarez, who reteams with Sayagues to again co-write the sequel, then “changes seats” (in Alvarez’s words) as Sayagues takes on directing duties. “We didn’t want to do a sequel where it was ‘the same again, bigger.’ We are telling a completely different story that poses the same questions – how does the audience feel about this character and what he’s doing. Like any good thriller, it’s a riddle – every scene is a clue, and you have to put it together.”

With an impressive 85% Audience Score in Rotten Tomatoes, Don’t Breathe 2 has wowed both horror fans and critics from popular genre media outlets when it opened recently in the U.S.

Collider calls the film “A house full of deliciously rendered horrors,” adding “My anticipation level has raised nearly as high as my adrenaline levels.”

“Even freakier than the first Don’t Breathe,” shares Edward Douglas of Below The Line. “You’ll never figure out where it’s going.  Expect the unexpected this time around.”

Sabina Graves of Comingsoon.net describes it as “Thrilling with unexpected shocking twists! Sayagues helms a worthy sequel that expertly amps the tension from the first film to a stunning conclusion.”

Don’t Breathe 2 is a welcome surprise,” praises Sean O’Connell of Cinemablend. “It’s dark and twisted, but totally unpredictable. It starts off by giving fans of the original what they expect, then it takes off in a wild new direction that’s incredibly disturbing, but compelling and tense.”

“The Blind Man’s wrath will keep you on the edge of your seat,” claims Simon Thompson of Forbes. “It’s exhaustively tense — you can’t look and you can’t look away!”
