Our favorite Hogwarts trio is back as they celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the Harry Potter franchise. HBO Max announced that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in a special program.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, a retrospective special for J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world, was announced by HBO Max and is set for a premiere on January 1, 2022.

The special will contain in-depth interviews and cast interactions, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the franchise’s creation.

Tom Felton, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, and others will join the Gryffindor trio, while author J.K. Rowling has not yet confirmed her appearance.

The retrospective special is “a tribute to everyone whose lives were touched by this cultural phenomenon—from the talented cast and crew who poured their heart and soul into this extraordinary film franchise to the passionate fans who continue to keep the Wizarding World spirit alive 20 years later,” Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics President Tom Ascheim said in a statement.

With everyone ecstatic for the return of Harry Potter, HBO Max released a teaser trailer for the special. “Mysterious thing, time,” Albus Dumbledore says in a teaser trailer for the special, which includes flashbacks from the Harry Potter films and Albus Dumbledore’s voice remarking, “When in doubt, I find retracing my steps a sensible place to begin.” Watch the teaser below and tell us what you’re most excited for about the special!
