Everyone’s favorite paranormal detective is finally available in iconic collectible form – a Funko Pop!
Filbar’s officially announced the Alexandra Trese Funko Pop as a part of their collaboration with toy company Funko Inc. to immortalize the investigator in toy form. The Trese collectible is now part of Funko’s Comics Line, acknowledging the roots of the character from the Filipino graphic novel series by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo before its recent animated series premiere on Netflix.
The standard figurine is priced at P800, while a special black and white “Chase” version, true to Trese’s original comic book format, can also be purchased as part of a six-piece Trese bundle, exclusively sold at Filbar’s stores across the Philippines.
Budjette Tan, who co-created Trese with artist Kajo Baldisimo, was enthralled by the popular character’s vinyl treatment.
“Seeing the Trese Funko Pop feels like being in a strange dream. It is amazing and unbelievable to see Trese side by side with other characters from Marvel and DC Comics,” Tan shared with ABS-CBN News.
Jacob Cabochan, co-owner of Filbar’s, the Philippines’ longest-running chain of comics and collectibles specialty stores, stated, ” We’re ecstatic that Funko has collaborated with us to bring this Filipino favorite comics character.”
The Alexandra Trese Funko Pop is the latest in a long series of Filbar’s exclusives including the best-selling Ateneo Blue Eagle and De La Salle Green Archer Pop earlier in 2021. The figurines also join a growing list of Filipino Pop exclusives that include Darna, Jollibee, Manny Pacquiao, as well as mythological creatures like the Aswang, White Lady, and Siyokoy.
