To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Tiger, Xbox has created limited-edition, custom Xbox Series S console and Xbox Wireless controller in collaboration with the Chinese cartoon designer Bu2ma. Wrapped in a deep crimson red box with black ink finish and gold accents, it is themed after the Lunar New Year, featuring the Tiger and representing traditional lucky colors red and gold.

Given the extremely limited number of consoles being made, the company has made it possible for anyone around the world to get unbelievably lucky and score a unit.

Fans around the world joined in on the Lunar New Year celebration and hoped to win the limited edition console by retweeting the following tweet:

Meanwhile, Xbox fans in China had the same opportunity to enter sweepstakes via the official social media platforms on Wechat and Bilibili.

According to Xbox, the new custom console represents well-being and fortune, offering good will toward all gamers.

The Xbox Wireless Controllers are a festive red showcasing the Tiger in a black Chinese ink finish, which is frequently used in traditional Chinese wash paintings. Emphasizing the zodiac’s significance, a golden character meaning “Tiger” (虎) written in Chinese is displayed prominently on the back of the controller.

This is not the first time Microsoft has developed and custom-designed Xbox consoles to celebrate the Lunar New Year.  in 2016, Microsoft had commissioned special Xbox One consoles to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. Unfortunately, none of the designs were made up for sale.
