Following its title announcement in mid-January, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is back with another teaser. This time, it features 23 posters that showcases character poses without revealing the who’s who. It is no secret that this series features a star-studded cast, however, the production left the fans to do the pairing as the character posters barely reveal anything about the show’s casting.
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set in the Second Age of Middle Earth. Thus, the series will be a prequel to the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings film series. It dates back to before Sauron subjugated the people of Middle-earth using the One Ring. The inspiration for this series will still be from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy work.
It has been circulating that the show will feature Morgoth, a god-like Valar who tried to rule Middle-earth. This is due to the mention of evil even greater than Sauron. However, as the production is still in the works, fans are still in the dark as to how this series will truly approach the story.
Despite not yet premiering, the title sequence of the series was a hit, particularly because the production used practical effects for the promotional material. Even with this, fans are not completely excited about the chosen title. Guess we’ll just have to wait until its release to see what the series can offer.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be streamed on Prime Video and is slated to premiere on September 2, 2022.
