With school field trips indefinitely suspended, most students have yet to pay their visit to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), which houses a lot of educational performances and other various forms of Filipino art and culture.
The good news is that we no longer have to go the extra mile to witness the state-of-the-art performances from CCP, as they will be made available in the comfort of our own homes. Recently, CCP partnered with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) for the airing of their productions on the Knowledge Channel.
CCP and KCFI previously worked in collaboration to bring a live adaptation of Noli Me Tangere under the Filipino High School block and a few theatrical performances under the Theater Hour segment.
KCFI president and executive director Rina Lopez-Bautista further emphasized the importance of knowledge about Filipino heritage to the youth. “Having knowledge about Filipino history, culture and language is fundamental in the holistic development of the Filipino child. Children will have a profound sense of their identity as a Filipino and a strong feeling of pride for their country,” she said.
While both organizations have yet to announce the lineup for this partnership, airing will begin during the first two quarters of 2022 so we’re sure to find out very soon what they have in store.
