Optimus Prime is now an official LEGO set with 1,508 pieces and 19 points of articulation to achieve that smooth transformation. LEGO also equipped him with the ion blaster, Chest Chamber storage with the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, Energon axe, Energon cube, and jetpack – items that were shown throughout the different Transformer sagas and adaptations.

Designed especially for adults, the 2-in-1 LEGO model stands 13.5 inches tall in robot mode and shifts into a 27-inch-long truck. This collectible action figure comes with a special plaque to flex and display your build.

Joseph Patrick Kyde, Senior Designer at the LEGO Group, said in a press statement, “Optimus Prime has become a pop culture symbol of courage, selflessness, and great leadership as well as an awesome toy that embodies the problem-solving and creativity skills that both companies value so much. It’s been a wonderful and challenging task to bring him to life using LEGO bricks, especially making sure that he can shift modes without disassembly and stay true to his signature look and style.”

Casey Collins, Head of Licensed Consumer Products and Business Development at Hasbro, added, “We know fans everywhere will be thrilled by this collaboration as it enables fans and families of all ages to create memories as they work together to build the LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime.”

The LEGO Optimus Prime G1 action figure will be available globally on LEGO.com and LEGO stores for $169.99 (around 8,922 pesos) this coming June 1, 2022— a more affordable choice compared to an earlier Hasbro counterpart.
