Korean boy group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) announced their “hiatus” as a group during their #2022BTSFESTA YouTube special.
The group members spoke in the video about their gratefulness to their fans (ARMYs) and their status as artists. They have then proceeded to discuss their plans as solo artists, which member RM exclaimed will be an opportunity for them to “show our individual colors.”
Jimin also expresses his feelings to say, “I want my music to tell a message to the fans, and it made me feel a lot of things.”
The news left fans initially felt confused and worried about the hiatus, but they eventually showed their true hearts and support for the BTS members.
bts taking a break to focus on themselves is something im never going to complain about.. it could be thousand years and I’ll still be waiting for them with open arms

the fact that bts wanted to take a break in 2020 after ON era but felt responsible to be there for armys and continue making music to heal us during the pandemic like we don’t deserve them y’all

Despite the surprise announcement, BTS members hoped that the fans don’t take this break negatively and clarified that “hiatus” doesn’t entail disbanding.
The world will surely miss the boys. Fans will be singing Spring Day “bogo shipda” until their return. Til then, let’s make a toast to BTS and wish the members a safe journey to their solo outings.
