Uncle Roger Brings His Comedic Chops in Southeast Asia With ‘The Haiyaa World Tour’

Nieces and nephews:  your favorite uncle, fried rice expert, and MSG lover is going global! Malaysian standup comedian and viral content creator Nigel Ng (aka Uncle Roger) is currently taking the stage in Asia with The Haiyaa World Tour— cooking up good comedy in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, and Bangkok.

Aside from the major cities in Southeast Asia, Uncle Roger is also entertaining audiences in Tokyo and Taipei since June 2022.

With around 40 dates and several sold-out shows, Nigel’s standup tour started off in the United Kingdom last February 2022 and was followed by performances in America, Australia, and Canada.

Nigel Ng became an internet sensation in mid-2020 when he went viral for his alter ego with a strong Cantonese accent, Uncle Roger.  His YouTube channel has over 345 million views and is known for videos on roasts of western chefs butchering Asian dishes, essential cooking tips for Asian cuisine, and the sanctity of rice cookers and woks.

Aside from his Uncle Roger sketches, Nigel adds his flavor to Asian pop culture with his appearances on BBC and hosting of podcasts Rice to Meet You and HAIYAA with Nigel Ng.
