There’s no denying that Wednesday Addams has taken over the world by storm as the series becomes Netflix’s third most popular english-language series of all time – just two weeks after its debut. With everyone gushing about the gothic teen, fans are demanding for a second season.
This most recent entry into The Addams Family franchise is definitely connecting with audiences on a much deeper level than satirical amusement, as evidenced by the 341 million hours of views it garnered in its first week alone. The series has garnered immense success with Jenna Ortega’s flawless portrayal of the lead role and Tim Burton expertise on gothic and horror films – and of course to everyone involved.
With a successful show like this, it is not a question of whether the series will get a second season, but when it will get a continuation.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, ‘Wednesday’ showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar discussed to Variety about their future plans for the show. Here’s everything you need to know!
Season 2 Cast
Since Jenna Ortega is the breakthrough star, we can expect her to return for Wednesday season 2. Other possible cast members include Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, and Moosa Mostafa as Eugene.
Wednesday’s parents, Morticia and Gomez, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman, could make another appearance. If there are flashbacks, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester and possibly a younger Morticia are both possibilities.
Season 2 Plot
The first season concluded with the Nevermore students taking a brief vacation. Towards the ending, there are still questions left unanswered such as: who is Wednesday’s stalker, what happens with Tyler, and so much more to discover – so the second season may focus on this path.
Season 2 Release Date
As mentioned, there is no confirmation of Wednesday’s second season yet. But we’ll let you know once we have updates!
In the meantime, if you haven’t watched Wednesday yet, it’s currently available on Netflix!
