The Academy Awards have finally announced its official nominations for the 95th Oscars ceremony, and this year’s slate of nominees is one for history as it recognized more Asian actors and films in the industry!

The Academy honored the oldest Oscar nominee ever, a record number of Asian actors, and many first-time nominees. This year saw the most recognized Asian acting nominees at four nominations with Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and Hong Chau.

Also making history with 11 nominations, Everything Everywhere All At Once became the most nominated picture this year.

16 out of the 20 actors nominated this year are enjoying their first nominations, making up the great majority of the acting contenders, and there are many additional first-timers in other categories, including Rihanna for Best Original Song.

The Best Picture nominees for this year have the biggest combined gross in more than ten years, making it a significant year for box office successes at the Oscars.

The 2023 Oscars will be broadcasted on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The awards ceremony will go on air at 8:00PM ET/5:00PM PT on ABC, with Jimmy Kimmel as the host.
