Vietnam looks gorgeous in the new Hollywood movie trailer of ‘A Tourist’s Guide to Love’ which will premiere on Netflix, top-billed and produced by Rachel Leigh Cook.
The film also stars Scott Ly, Missi Pyle, Ben Feldman, Glynn Sweet, Alexa Povah, Jacqueline Correa, Nondumiso Tembe, Andrew Barth Feldman, Morgan Dudley, and features Vietnamese actors like, Quinn Trúc Trần, & Nsưt Lê Thiện.
The film is the first US-produced film to be shot entirely in the country, capturing its beauty, landscapes and Vietnamese people with every frame. Many scenic spots, familiar places in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, and Hano.
A ‘rare’ Hollywood movie set primarily in Vietnam, with no artificial scenes but authentic showcase of the countries gorgeous sceneries and places such as crowded streets, temples and towers, “My Son relics” or “Hoi An” an ancient town are integrated but still close and familiar.
The film revolves around Amanda, a travel agent living in the United States who wants to “find herself again” after suddenly breaking up with her longtime lover. She went to Vietnam to travel and find new experiences in the country.
This is where she accidentally met, and gradually developed feelings for the student guide Sinh (played by Scott Ly). But things are about to get complicated when unexpectedly, her ex-boyfriend, John (played by Ben Feldman) also follows her to Vietnam, courting Amanda to get back with him.
Aside from its feel-good, summer vibes budding love story, the film also introduces and promotes Vietnamese culture and history for tourism to international audiences.
Thereby making it not only a “tourists’ guide to love” but also a “guide and sneak peak to Vietnam’s people and culture”.
“It’s good that more and more Asian elements are being shown in Hollywood movies,” an audience member commented below the trailer.
Netflix will release the film in Vietnam and around the world on April 21, 2023.
