Tim Burton really became a popular name when Beetlejuice came out in 1988. It is one of the most well-known horror comedies ever made and no doubt, people have since clamor for a sequel.

In the 2010s, it looked like work on a sequel might start up again, but the project was put on hold yet again in 2019. The franchise has been brought back from time to time in non-theatrical ways, like theme park rides, an animated TV show, and a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, but fans have always wanted a real sequel. Now, almost 30 years later, it looks like the Beetlejuice story has finally found a new way to continue.

Beetlejuice 2 seems to be in the works again after being stuck in development hell for years. Reports say that Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, who played Beetlejuice in the first movie, will be back, along with Jenna Ortega, who was in the hit movie “Wednesday” in 2022. Not only did we find out more about the main actors, but we also got some early information about how the highly anticipated project would be shot. Here is what we know so far about Beetlejuice 2, so you can learn more.

Warner Bros. has finally decided when Beetlejuice 2 will come out in cinemas this September 6, 2024. Since the Beetlejuice series is known for its creepy images and scary atmosphere, it makes sense that Warner Brothers would want to release Beetlejuice 2 in the fall.

We know you’ve been waiting for 30 years, but we probably won’t get our first good look at Beetlejuice 2 for a little while longer. The movie is still in the pre-production stage, and casting has just started. Once the main filming of the project is done and post-production starts, we’ll probably get some kind of video.

Tim Burton is likely to come back to make the sequel to one of his most important movies. His list of movies since Beetlejuice includes Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), and Corpse Bride (2005), just to name a few.

The rest of the film’s crew hasn’t been named yet, but it’s possible that many of Burton’s regular team members will be back, like composer Danny Elfman, who has worked with Burton many times before.

Michael Keaton is expected to come back as the famous ghost who causes trouble in the movie’s name. Keaton has worked with Burton many times over the course of his career. A year after the first Beetlejuice, he played Burton’s version of Batman.

Jenna Ortega, who became famous overnight after playing the lead role in Tim Burton’s hit Netflix show Wednesday, will also be in the movie. Ortega is known for more than just his new take on The Addams Family. He was also a part of the recent revival of the Scream series. Ortega will play Lydia’s kid in the play.

Winona Ryder will reprise her role as Lydia in the movie, and Justin Theroux from “The Leftovers” will join the cast in an unknown role.

The movie is set to shoot in the UK this May but since the WGA strike is still going on, there is a likely chance that shooting will have to stop.

So far, we don’t know much about the plot of Beetlejuice 2, and any story beats are still being kept under wraps.
