After a lengthy search, DC Studios has officially selected the actors who will play Superman/ Clark Kent and Lois Lane in their kickoff project “Superman: Legacy”: David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.

The upcoming iteration of the iconic superhero, set for a release on July 11, 2025, will reportedly be a “workplace origin story” where reporter Kent (Corenswet) and his coworker Lane (Brosnahan) meet at the newspaper publication The Daily Planet.

“Superman: Legacy” will be written and directed by James Gunn, who is currently co-leading DC Studios with Peter Safran. The movie aims to sweep previous DC films and start anew for its multi-connected film and television franchise.

“It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned,” Safran said.
