Looking for a great platform to watch Filipino classics? Look no further! The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) started housing restored classic Filipino films this October on their streaming platform, JuanFlix.
JuanFlix: The FDCP Channel offers quality local and international films made by talented Filipino and international filmmakers. A partnership between The Film Development Council of the Philippines and ABS-CBN Film Restoration (Sagip Pelikula) initiative, JuanFlix aims to spark interest in classic Filipino films by preserving cultural film heritage through the works of legendary filmmakers from the Philippines.
With this, viewers can now stream classic films from beloved Pinoy filmmakers starring some of their favorite actors and actresses. Some of the films that are available to view now are “Himala” directed by Ishmael Bernal and starring Nora Aunor; protest film “Minsa’y Isang Gamu-gamo” directed by Lupita Aquino and starring Nora Aunor, Jay Iilagan, Gloria Sevilla and Perla Bautista; “Zamboanga” directed by Eduardo de Castro starring legendary Filipino action star, Fernando Poe and Rosa del Rosario; and many more films like “Hapolos”, “Temptation Island”, and “Ikaw ay Akin”.
JuanFlix also has a Special Features section where they showcase FDCP Live streaming events, documentaries by local filmmakers, behind-the-scenes footage of film productions and location spotlights where certain islands in the Philippines are featured.
The platform is free, with a paid subscription available for film enthusiasts looking for more premium content and films.
