Philippine Concerts recently announced that K-pop boy group EXO will visit the country for several solo concerts this 2024. Suho and D.O. are the EXO members who are slated to return to the Philippines, with their group’s vocalist Baekhyun recently holding his own solo concert in the country last April 13.
With the announcement came excitement from fans, dubbing the concert series as EXO’s “Tingi Era,” named after the tingi or micro-retail culture in the Philippines wherein consumers purchase goods one item at a time, referring to how each member will hold their own individual events in the country.
Baekhyun’s 2024 tour “Lonsdaleite” has already made rounds in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines, and is set to visit Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Thailand until June of this year. The Manila leg of his tour was held at a sold-out crowd in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Baekhyun, who announced last year that he will return to the Philippines, made good on his promise and delivered a showstopping performance. Among the popular songs that Baekhyun performed were “Love Scene,” “Betcha” and “UN Village.”
Next in the line-up is Suho, EXO’s multi-talented leader, who will have his first-ever concert tour “SU:HOME” in South Korea, The Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia. The Manila leg of his tour will be held on June 22 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with ticket details yet to be announced.
Aside from his successful music career, the K-pop star also has a talent in acting, starring in K-dramas such as Rich Man, Behind Your Touch, and most recently, as crown prince Yi Geon in romantic period drama Missing Crown Prince.
Last but not least is D.O., who will have his Asian Fan Concert Tour “Bloom” from June to September in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. The Manila leg of his tour will be held on August 31, but no details have been released yet about the concert venue and tickets.
D.O. is another EXO member who delved into acting, with roles in K-drama series such as Bad Prosecutor, 100 Days My Prince and It’s Okay, That’s Love. He released his solo EP Expectation last year, which peaked at number 3 in the Korean Circle Chart, and is set to release his latest EP Blossom to coincide with his upcoming tour.
The members of EXO have definitely come a long way since their 2012 debut.
