It’s time to celebrate otaku culture at Malaysia’s biggest pop culture convention! Anime, comics and games enthusiasts are in for a treat as AniManGaki is coming back for its biggest event yet this 2024.
AniManGaki is a portmanteau or blended word, taking its name from a combination of anime, manga and the Japanese word “gaki” meaning “brat.” Through the years, AniManGaki has already been considered a spectacle, growing a vibrant community celebrating people’s creativity, passion, and unique interests. Now in its 16th year, the convention is ready to take things to the next level with amazing activities including Artist Alley, Cosplay Alley, Vtuber Showcase, live stage performances, exhibits, carnival games, Makan Corner, and more!

Some of the recently announced special guests that will be joining the convention are the cosplayer and model Hakken, Vtuber Dokibird, and the anisong singer and lolita model, Luna Haruna. Gakis will also have a chance to step into the world of Vtubers through a VTuber showcase that features over 120 participants from different countries, including Auteru, Bianci Kuro, Daburu Akira, Fluffy Gem, Fuzzyfiz Ch., Kiara Fordel, Luviluna, Rio Triandrus, Yueho, and more!

Aside from Vtubers, more than 90 cosplayers will also be transforming themselves into living versions of their favorite characters at the Cosplay Alley. Some of the cosplayers attending are Miiko, Ruri, Ain Nguyen, Liabear, Hikarin, Viku, Aza Miyuko, Thames, and many more, so look forward to seeing their intricately made vibrant costumes.
The convention will also come alive with the buzz of competition. Artists can show off their skills by drawing the AniManGaki mascot, Kei-chan, in an outdoor adventure for the chance to win the art competition. Cosplayers can also show off their craftsmanship in a cosplay contest where they can showcase their creative expression. For those gifted in the performing arts, the convention will hold the AniManGaki Idol where you can win by singing your favorite song from anime, cartoons, video games or Japanese pop culture. And for the true competitors, there will be a fighting game tournament for gamers who play Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
Whether you’re a seasoned attendee or a first-time visitor, AniManGaki 2024 is the perfect convention for you to explore the vibrant world of anime, comics, and games.
