After nearly 6 years, Jujutsu Kaisen, the supernatural action manga series by Gege Akutami, is confirmed to be nearing its conclusion in the coming chapters.
Gege Akutami has long teased fans on the conclusion of his hit manga series, with its ending being already decided as far back as January of this year. Jujutsu Kaisen editor Junya Fukuda stated in an interview, “We’ve already had a meeting about the ending… As we continued our meetings, Akutami-sensei told me what he wanted to happen in the future, and as I listened to him, I naturally understood the ending.”

Its tenth and final arc, the “Shinjuku Showdown,” brings Jujutsu Kaisen to its climax as the sorcerers face off against the King of Curses, Sukuna, in an all-out war. This arc has delivered some of the manga’s most heart-stopping moments, including the shocking death of fan-favorite Satoru Gojo in his epic battle with Sukuna and, in recent chapters, the long-awaited return of a character whose fate had remained a mystery for years.
Since its serialization in 2018, Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most successful manga series in the world, with various adaptations and spin-offs like novels, digital versions, and a movie prequel in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. It has become one of the best-selling manga series of all time, with over 90 million copies in circulation. The series also has a popular anime adaptation produced by Studio Mappa, with its third season already greenlit and expected to be released next year.
With Demon Slayer concluding its manga in 2020 and My Hero Academia wrapping up just last month, the upcoming finale of Jujutsu Kaisen signals the end of an era for the iconic late 2010s Shonen Jump titles that have captivated fans around the world since their debut.
