Our homecoming queen Olivia Rodrigo is set to perform in the Philippine Arena tomorrow night for the Manila leg of her Guts World Tour! The Grammy-winning singer, known for her catchy and relatable hits like “drivers license,” “deja vu,” and “good 4 u,” has made her stop in the Philippines a “Silver Star Show,” with all tickets astoundingly priced at only PHP 1,500, and seats being randomly distributed among attendees.
The sold-out concert will be Olivia’s first-ever show in the Philippines, so if you’re a big Livie, this is your chance to see her live! But if you’re just getting into Olivia Rodrigo’s songs, then don’t fret. Here’s everything you need to know before her Manila Silver Star Show tomorrow.
Homecoming Queen
@livbedumb on my way to the philippines!!!! im sooooooo excited!!!!
This is Olivia’s first time visiting the Philippines, and fans everywhere are excited for her to finally step foot in the country. The pop star identifies as a Filipino American, with her paternal grandparents and great grandparents emigrating from the Philippines to the US.
While she’s never been to the country before, her family follows Filipino traditions and cuisine, and she’s expressed her excitement to visit the country multiple times before. This upcoming concert not only holds significance for Filipinos who want to see her live, but for Olivia herself, as a Filipino American looking to connect with her roots. So if you’re going to her concert tomorrow, make sure to shower Olivia with love and show her just how much Filipino fans can offer.
The Duality of SOUR and GUTS
Olivia’s latest album, GUTS, is the raison d’etre for the world tour. While her debut album, SOUR, is bright, irreverent, and playful, GUTS takes a darker turn, blending noise and punk influences with her signature pop-rock sound for a more angsty and driven record.
Fan-favorite tracks such as “vampire” and “bad idea right?” express heartbreak and personal coping, “all‐american bitch” and “get him back!” explore gender expectations within and outside of a relationship, and “making the bed” focuses on the pressures that come with fame.
While SOUR follows more modern genres like bedroom pop ballads and punk-pop anthems, GUTS draws influence from ‘90s alt-rock and early 2000s pop, widening Olivia’s sonic palette and making for a more mature-sounding sophomore release.
Concert for a Cause
Olivia often speaks out about reproductive rights and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. As a known advocate for social causes, Olivia also announced that all proceeds from the concert will go to her Fund 4 Good initiative, which aims to support organizations that champion education, reproductive rights, and gender-based violence prevention, aiming to build an equitable and just future for women and girls. PHP 1,500 per ticket already seemed like a reasonable price for a world tour ticket, but to learn that the proceeds from ticket sales will go to a good cause is just the icing on top of the cake.
What to Expect in the Setlist
Based on the previous legs of her tour, Olivia performed 22 songs from her GUTS and SOUR albums. She frequently performs “vampire,” “bad idea right?” “get him back!” “all-american bitch,” “the grudge,” and “lacy,” from GUTS. Alternately, she mixes it with frequently played songs from SOUR which are “drivers license,” “good 4 u,” “brutal,” “deja vu,” and “traitor.”
The GUTS World Tour also features a dynamic production, with Olivia interacting with the audience as well. There are no announcements yet about any guests during her concert, but previous shows included surprise performances by Chappel Roan and The Breeders, so stay alert and expect the unexpected!
What to Wear and Bring

Photo by Molly Matalon / New York Times
Olivia’s current sound is inspired by ‘90s grunge, alt-rock and early ‘00s pop, which is why fans mostly wear Y2K and grunge outfits to her shows. This includes bright statement pieces with necklaces, bracelets, shades, and of course, a whole lot of purple, since it’s Olivia’s favorite color!
If you want to blend in with the concert, go ahead and put together your 2000s rebel outfit, but there are also some things you should include in your checklist. Don’t forget to bring your official ticket, a valid ID, and your queuing number if you’ll be at the standing area. Bring a small bag that can contain all of your concert essentials, since bags bigger than 12 by 12 inches are not allowed inside the venue. For fans who are minors, PWDs or pregnant women, you may get a waiver form at the help desk and bring a signed copy with you on your way to your seat. Last but not least, safety and hygiene should come first, so bring a face mask and your own bottle of alcohol or sanitizer.
Now that you know all there is to know about the concert, all that’s left to do is to get ready for a night to remember. Good for you! And if you have the blues because you weren’t able to get a ticket, don’t worry because the “Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour” concert movie is set to release on Netflix this October 29.
