COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises has cast a spell on its community through a night of wizardry, advocacy, and defying gravity during the 2024 Holiday Movie Night with COMCOmigos. The highlight? A special screening of the hit musical film Wicked, where media, bloggers, content creators, influencers, brand reps, Camp COMCO alumni, SEA Wave Pop Culture Magazine subscribers, and members of the COMCO Squadron gathered to celebrate the holidays on a high note.
This wasn’t your ordinary movie night—COMCO Mundo bedazzled the hangout with sparkle and purpose through cinema snacks, a wickedly tricky trivia quiz, and raffle items worthy of the Emerald City. No one left the theaters empty-handed as COMCO Mundo gave away treats from its major sponsor, Century Tuna; sponsors Century Tuna Nuggets, MIDEA, SAMSUNG and URATEX Monoblock; supporters ASEANA, Lamoiyan Corporation, LENOVO, Sunlife Global Solutions and Teleperformance; industry partner Save the Children; and media partners SEA Wave Pop Culture Magazine and SEA Wave Pilipinas.
After the fun and games, COMCO Mundo Group Chief Executive Director and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel / Partner and Co-Founder Ferdinand L. Bondoy took center stage to announce the group’s upcoming advocacy projects through its Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program. Mr. Bondoy highlighted Save the Children’s #LahatDapatSafe campaign, advocating for every child’s right to safety and protection, especially during the typhoon season which coincides with the holidays. COMCO Mundo is also working with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines for the Communications Olympiad—a training and education program for the next generation of communications practitioners across the country. Aside from these projects, the group is also looking forward to partnerships with Make-A-Wish Philippines and Philippine Eagle Foundation, as well as expanding its Southeast Asia Affiliate Network.
As the program ended, it was clear this wasn’t just a holiday movie night—it was a call to action. The spellbinding Wicked screening turned the night into a full celebration of friendship, resilience, and courage, and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing where the future leads us. COMCO Mundo’s Mission 2024 may have been fulfilled, but the initiatives the COMCO squadron has woven will continue to spark positive change. After all, in the words of Elphaba, “Together, we’re unlimited.” And through the projects under Citizen COMCO like #LahatDapatSafe and the Communications Olympiad, COMCO Mundo is ensuring that its advocacies remain at the forefront as the group continues to grow.
