The 2025 film and TV awards season has officially begun! Critically acclaimed filmmakers, scriptwriters, actors, and crew members gathered once again for the annual celebration and recognition of the most outstanding productions on film and television at the 82nd Golden Globes Awards.

The awarding ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, and was hosted by stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser. From the previous awards show, Oppenheimer emerged with the most wins for film with 5 awards, for this year Emilia Pérez stole the spotlight among all the film entries with a total of four wins, including Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Non-English Language Film, Best Original Song for “El Mal,” and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña. The prestigious awards show also recognized the epic period drama film, The Brutalist, with three awards for Best Picture – Drama, Best Actor for Adrien Brody, and Best Director for Brady Corbet. Meanwhile, fan-favorite Wicked was honored with the Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award. Another highlight was Demi Moore’s portrayal of faded Hollywood star Elisabeth Sparkle in The Substance, which earned her her first Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.

On the television side of things, Shōgun won Best Drama Series over popular nominees like Squid Games and The Diplomat. Shōgun successfully bagged all the awards that it was nominated for, including Best Actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, Best Actress for Anna Sawai, and Best Supporting Actor for Tadanobu Asano. Baby Reindeer and Hacks won two awards each—Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, and Best Supporting Actress for Jessica Gunning for the former; and Best Musical or Comedy Series and Best Performance in a Television Series for Jean Smart for the latter.
