Have you seen this building inspired by reptilian wildlife in Penang recently? It’s the Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery—a building dedicated to showcasing the works created and curated by renowned-Singaporean artist and cultural ambassador Professor Lin Xiang Xiong.
The Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery officially opened its doors this December with the intention of expanding Xiong’s “Art for Peace” UNESCO exhibition. The building contains four permanent exhibits from the professor: Story of Xiang Xiong, Story of Nanyang, The Vicissitudes of Life, and Story of Nature.
These themes are the fruits of Xiong’s works exploring individual destiny, Nanyang culture, social transformation and the philosophy of nature. Alongside these are going to be new exhibits that feature international and local artists that will serve as an education center, special exhibition gallery, and an international conference hall, all with the goal to bring art to the forefront of uniting the world in peace.
Visitors can come and visit the gallery at The Light Waterfront in Penang. It is currently in the soft-opening phase so tickets can only be bought on-site. For more information, you can visit the Lin Xiang Xiong Art Gallery website for details or follow them on social media through Facebook and Instagram.
