The Bangkok Design Week Returns for its 9th Edition

Spread the love

Sustainability is the name of the game for the 9th edition of Bangkok Design Week (BKKDW).

Organized by Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) or CEA, Bangkok Design Week is a festival that propels ambitious ideas and new possibilities to the front and center of the local design community. This 11-day event consists of several activities held in Bangkok, recognizing its significance as a UNESCO’s Creative City of Design, with around 2,000 designers and creative businesses, and over 60 state agencies, public organizations, academia, and international institutions participating in the event.

This year, BKKDW brings together creators, designers, entrepreneurs, developers, and more to create designs under the theme of “Design S/O/S”—with S standing for Secure Domestic designs that strive to set new standards and awaken waves boosting the domestic market; O for Outreach Opportunities where designs create new opportunities, foster collaborations, and confidently push Thai design to the global stage; and the final S for Sustainable Future, where designs are made to explore bold and innovative ways that incorporate sustainability.

BKKDW has 350 creative programs curated for visitors to experience, with over 200 showcases and exhibitions, 30 talent development programs, and 10 education institutions gearing the next generation for careers in creative industries. Designers hailing from over 16 other countries are also included to give visitors an international experience.

Visit the BKKDW website for the latest news on the event and where to go for the exciting programs!
