Mongolian Art Shines in “Wolf Loving Princess” at Gallery Ver, Thailand

Spread the love

What does the relationship between life, language, mythology, and dreams look like? Mongolian artist Tuguldur Yondonjamts’s exhibit Wolf Loving Princess explores this through several mediums, making use of books, paintings, sculptures, sound, and video installations to explore the topic. Yondonjamts is best known for his extensively researched art pieces and multimedia pieces using videos, drawings, and installations.

With his first solo exhibit in Thailand, Yondonjamts explores the process of translation by examining ancient Mongolian script, Animal Mongolian writing, binary code, and English. The artist starts with the examination of names like “Sarah” and “Connor” to mean “princess” and “wolf loving”; becoming the anchor of the exhibition. Alongside this exhibit is Yondonjamts’ series “Falcon (2011)” and “Serpent,” his longest-running project, continuously developed since 2015 and held in the Kadist collection.
