What is the first thought that crosses your mind when you think of insects? Possibly something about squashing them, fleeing from them, or wishing that they would just fly away. The Singapore ArtScience Museum will help you see these incredible bugs for the beauties that they are with the “Insects: Microsculptures Magnified” exhibit.
This new photo exhibit is a collaboration between the Singapore ArtScience Museum, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, and American Museum of Natural History, featuring 37 high-magnification portraits captured by British photographer Levon Biss. Each photo showcases the wonderful and weird world of insects in detail, showcasing the intricate patterns of their wings, the rigidness of their exoskeletons, the vibrance of their colors, and the uniqueness of their structures. The exhibit also raises awareness about the processes that scientists who work in the field follow in order to make significant discoveries that advance fields from ecology and conservation to biomimetic engineering.
Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, Nanyang Technological University, A*STAR and Singapore Geographic, also contributed photos to the exhibit that showcase the rich diversity of insect life in Singapore.
Catch this cutie crawly exhibit the Singapore ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands until May 10 and don’t miss out on this one of a kind experience!
