Enjoy a limited-time flower market and playground in Singapore, brought to you by Australian artist, CJ Hendry!
Hendry is best known for her large-scale drawings and immersive installations that blur the line between illusion and reality. Oftentimes, she uses everyday objects to create massive projects that explore themes of consumer culture, nostalgia, materiality, and perception with a contrast of bold, tactile, and genuinely accessible spaces.
The Flower Market has had its run in New York, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Sydney, and is now finally making its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore for a limited-time run from June 10 to 14. It features over 30 types of flowers made out of fabric, including the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim, the Raffles’ pitcher-plant, and the Singapore ginger flower, which will only be available for this stop of the pop-up.
This immersive experience runs until June 14, transforming the space into a sea of plush flowers, and comes with one free complimentary flower. Visitors are encouraged to roam the aisles and pick out the rest of their flowers for their bouquet, which costs SGD 7. Exclusive merch such as caps, tote bags, and t-shirts are also available for sale.
A few days after the Flower Market, Hendry’s Juju World takes over the space. Built around the artist’s collectible toy series, the activation will fill the area with inflatables for a fluffy and bouncy playground experience, reflecting the innocence of Juju—Hendry’s original plush bunny character. This inflatable playground will run from June 20 to July 21, with an entrance fee of SGD 15 for adults and SGD 10 for children aged 3 to 12 years old.
Catch both Hendry exhibits at IMBA Theater in Gardens by the Bay and visit imbaglobal.com for more information.
