Tom Cruise returns to the big screen with new film “Digger”

Witness an epic cinematic experience blending satire and thriller as Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s original film “Digger” stars Academy Award-winning actor Tom Cruise.

Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, the world’s most powerful man who races against time to convince humanity he is its savior before the catastrophe he unleashes destroys everything.

Tom Cruise is joined by Oscar winners Riz Ahmed and John Goodman and Oscar nominees Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons. Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman, and Sophie Wilde are also starring in the film.

Digger

Digger is directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu, who co-wrote the screenplay with fellow Oscar winners Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolás Giacobone, along with Sabina Berman.

Adding to its cinematography technique, Digger was entirely shot in VistaVision, a high-resolution film format that uses 35mm film. The film is presented by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures and will be released in theaters and IMAX across North America on October 2, 2026 and with its international release beginning on September 30, 2026.
